The village
of Muro is about 8 km. inland and, with Playa de Muro at the Bahia de Alcudia, it has one of the
most beautiful beaches
in the Balearic
Islands.
Muro is located
on a hill. In the middle of the village stand the church of San Juan, of which the tower is separated from the rest of the building.
Due to the height
it is a nice view
over the surrounding area, the agricultural environment. Oranges, lemons and all species of melons
are growing around the village.
In the center you find the Museu de Mallorca, a small historical exhibition. San Antoni (patron saint of animals) that continious the
night Nit
de Bruixes,
started by the local
Demonis (people dressed as devils perform a fire show)
is considered big
local ritual. For San Juan (patron saint of the village) are almost 2 weeks dedicated to celebrations, with many shows and concerts on the square.
The weekly market
takes place every Sunday.
Moving to coastal part of Muro
(Playa de
Muro), you come along
the S’Albufera,
a wetland that is the residence
for over
200 bird
species. At
the Playa
de Muro,
there are several hotels,
shops, restaurants
and bars.

A simple cottage for 8 people, located just outside of Muro on a 14000m2 plot and is surrounded by fruit trees. From the pool and terrace you have beautiful views on the rural surroundings of Muro and the Tramuntana. The surface is 160 m2 and is built on two levels. The ground floor has a living-dining room
with satellite TV, a kitchen with gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, fridge
freezer and all necessary small appliances. There is also a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom on this level. The washingmachine stands in a separate room at the back of the house. In the first floor there are 3 bedrooms, 2 with a double bed and one with 2 single beds and a bathroom with shower. Outside is a large terrace with garden furniture, a brick barbecue, a swimming pool of 10x9m with 8 sun loungers and a shower at the pool.
